For those who want a better smile, you could consider using this method if your teeth are look dull. At Derna Dental Clinic, we are greatly invested in your health and well-being. We understand that dull teeth can undermine your ability to smile confidently, which then affects your self-esteem. We want to help you feel great about yourself. If you’re looking for teeth whitening in Surrey, look no further than our seasoned dentists.
There are two main types of teeth whitening procedures: vital and non-vital whitening.
Vital Whitening
Vital whitening uses the application of a gel containing hydrogen peroxide directly to your teeth. This can be done in our office or at home. If you’re using our in-office method, we can apply a more powerful version of whitening gel that is activated by a specialized laser. In-home whitening methods are less powerful, and are applied using a mouthguard filled with whitening material. Though it is less effective, in-home whitening methods allow you to perform the whitening procedure at your own leisure.
In addition, some toothpastes can contain whitening abrasives that help clear away stains on your teeth.
Non-Vital Whitening
Non-whitening is performed on teeth that have gone through root canals, and no longer has a live nerve. Teeth that have had a root canal performed can discolor overtime inside, where the pulp of the teeth used to be. To whiten the tooth, whitening agent is put inside a hole drilled through the tooth. The tooth is then covered with a white composite filling.
