Laser Tooth Whitening

Teeth whitening is quickly becoming one of the most popular requests for dentists to give to their patients. Whitening refers to the processes that are used in order to make a person’s teeth whiter. To accomplish this, products are used in order to make a change to the tooth enamel to whiten the teeth instead of simply removing stains on the surface of the teeth.

There are two methods of whitening, but in this post we will talk about laser tooth whitening.

Laser tooth whitening is a process that can be performed only in a dental office. It is the most expensive method for whitening, but also the most effective. It is performed by applying a bleach product to your teeth before using a laser to generate heat, enhancing the effectiveness of the bleach. Since the process uses the heat of lasers to help whiten your teeth, we can use a stronger bleaching gel for a more drastic result.

Though laser tooth whitening is often the most effective whitening method, we also need to take the greatest precautions with it. Due to the high concentration levels of hydrogen peroxide in the bleaching gel and the heat of the lasers we use, we use a variety of protection on your teeth, gums, and lips to prevent it from being damaged. These methods include cheek retractors, rubber dams for your gums, and the application of desensitizing pastes.
